Peter Joins Trinity College London

Vivo Music’s owner, Peter Borchers, has been appointed Trinity College London’s National Manager for Southern Africa, taking over from Jenny Seager as of March 1, 2022. Prior to his involvement with either Vivo Music or Trinity College London, Peter has focused on amateur music and IT entrepreneurship, with most of his work life spent running a business he founded in London in the early 2000’s.

In Peter’s own words:

My decision to get involved with Vivo Music last year was driven by a desire to combine the things I enjoy; namely music, business, and IT, and the first few months have been very rewarding. I wasn’t looking to take on another role as Vivo Music and some other projects have been keeping me fully occupied. But when the Trinity College London job became available, it seemed like a great fit for my skills and interests, especially as the organization shifts many of its offerings to the digital realm.

I’m hoping to help find the balance between in person and digital exams as we emerge from the COVID pandemic and return to a sense of normality. I’m aware there are strong proponents of both exam paradigms, and one size does not fit all. As an exam candidate myself over the past five years, I’ve experienced both in person and digital exams, and there are aspects of both I value.

In addition, I look forward to growing our local board of Trinity music and drama examiners. Most importantly, I want to support the team of established Trinity reps located across South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, helping them support their local teachers and candidates. I’m taking over a well-run operation, as those who have worked with Jenny Seager will know. I will be sure to keep service at the level Jenny and the team have delivered over recent years.

Peter will use the Vivo Music blog to duplicate various Trinity related bits of news, often echoing the content found on the South Africa pages of the Trinity College London website. If you have any questions for Peter about his role with Trinity, please feel free to email him at peter@vivomusic.co.za, or peter.borchers@trinitycollege.com.
