A First Cello Note Book

The note books aim to enable beginner string players to use the very first notes that they play as a basis for developing good note-reading skills and a solid grounding in basic music theory and notation. Throughout the books, students are encouraged to link the practical with the theoretical by playing back the music that they see, copy and compose. In addition, students are introduced to pattern-spotting, very simple composition and rudimentary analysis – all skills essential for a young string player’s musical development. The books are designed to be used as workbooks and manuals at home as well as in instrumental lessons with a teacher.
