A Tuneful Introduction to the 2nd Position

A tuneful introduction to the second position develops the violinists awareness of tempi, expression marks and phrasing. It focuses on the changing position of the left hand to reach higher notes on the strings. The only movementis from the initial 1st position to the 2nd, once this is achieved the hand remains in place for the duration of the tune.
