Technique Takes Off

Technique Takes Off is a book that has 14 original, imaginative studies for solo viola, many of which are specially written with timbre and register of the instrument in mind, and designed to lead on fromelementary studies for younger players to those of Mazas and Kreutzer. Each piece concentrates on one or two aspects of technique, and the whole set covers a wide range of left and right hand skills, which includes spiccatobowing, string crossing, moto perpetuo, cantabile, and easy double-stopping.
